 ABOUT  THE  BRAND

Exomis: from the Greek exo “outside” and omos “shoulder”, this tunic was initially introduced to the working class and used widely in the military.
It quickly replaced its predecessors and became the favored style of tunic among the people.

Exomis is also a genus of flowering plant which belongs to the family Amaranthaceae.
It is special because it contains just one species, Exomis microphylla.
As a plant, Exomis is also somewhat unique because it contains both male and female reproductive structures in the same plant.

As a clothing brand, Exomis was born to embody all these attributes.
The goal is to create a range of garments that are meant for everyone, outside of limiting factors like social class, gender, or profession.

Our pieces are meant to be fashionable as well as functional, possessing a certain utilitarian quality.
And of course, at Exomis, we are always in love with exceptional floral prints!
The hope is that these collections are accepted as widely and as quickly as the exomis tunic was accepted in ancient Greece.

As a brand Exomis is committed to creating unique wearables, while maintaining high standards in production values.

This means that we care about the quality of our garments, but we also care about the effect we have on the garment industry and the wold at large.

It's no secret that the garment industry is responsible for creating mass amounts of pollution each and every year. It is our determination to set Exomis apart from this course of action.

We proudly
partner with Eco Enclose to pack and ship all our garments in materials that are recycled AND recyclable. In nearly every city, these packaging materials can be tossed right into your curbside recycling bin!

What about fabric?

The fabric industry is rapidly changing for the better. Take a peek inside a garment from your favorite brand and you'll likely see that a percentage of that garment is made from recycled fibers!

Currently, 5% of the Exomis line is made from recycled materials.
The Exomis Action Plan is to grow that percentage year-over-year as more eco friendly fabrics become available.

In the mean time, we are committed to making a difference on the back end of our garment production by taking all scraps that are not large enough to be used and turning them over to Seattle's Threadcycle.

Threadcycle is a public service program of King County and Seattle Public Utilities that takes damaged and discarded fiber products and saves them from landfills by recycling the fibers for use in products like mop heads, rags, and even auto insulation!
